Community Shred and Recycle Day to be held in Bethel

Contact: Bob Banasik, Pres. Brookfield Rotary 203-744-6522

Community Shred and Recycle Day is Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Dolan Plaza, 211 Greenwood Ave. Bethel from 9AM to 12 Noon.

Residents and businesses may bring their old documents and important papers, and consumer electronics items such as computers, monitors, TV’s, printers, etc. to Dolan Plaza and local Rotary Club members will take care of recycling them. Papers will be shredded on the spot and all other items will be packed into a truck for recycling. With the support of the community, this will be an annual event and will allow the local community to safely dispose of unwanted items and papers while at the same time helping Rotary to fund their community projects such as free dictionaries to 3rd graders in local schools, student of the month awards and local scholarships. Boxes of papers can be recycled for $5 per box and electronics items or $10 each. For more information call Bob Banasik at 203-744-6522 or email at bob@bestbusinessassociates.com .

Rotary is a non-profit civic organization which serves local communities as well as international humanitarian projects, among them the worldwide eradication of polio. For more information on Rotary, visit http://www.brookfieldrotary.org  or http://www.rotarydanburysunrise.org.

Recycling services are sponsored by SecureEco-Shred and Bernie’s TV and Appliances, and promotion support for this event is provided by Newtown Savings Bank and Union Savings Bank.
